Removal of Breast Implants with Breast Mastopexy (Breast Lift)

Procedure Details

Patient is a 54-year-old woman who presented for a consultation for removal of encapsulated implants and a revision of previous breast lift surgery. Patient also had moderate degree of ptosis. She also had Baker grade III capsular contracture bilaterally. She has had a previous Wise pattern mastopexy (Breast Lift) in the past and we reviewed that a revision can be safely performed through a similar scar outline. During our patient's consultation we had an in-depth discussion on the various approaches for performing implant removal, especially implants that have been in position for 17 years. Drawings and diagrams were utilized during her consultation to better assist the patient's understanding of the procedure with the mastopexy outline reviewed, particularly the nipple repositioning and scar requirements for a breast lift to be performed satisfactorily. Patient is just 3 months post her breast implant removal and breast mastopexy (breast lift) surgery. Patient is feeling much better and is very pleased with her results.
