41 year old female who was diagnosed with left breast cancer in her third trimester of her pregnancy. Patient had a lumpectomy during her pregnancy and postpartum had chemotherapy and bilateral breast surgery. Patient had a bilateral mastectomy with immediate reconstruction (with another physician). She consulted with Dr. Koch about her results that left her very unhappy. The reconstruction that was completed prior to our initial consultation with her was bilateral insertion of breast implants (before photograph). The reconstruction that she had previously she felt was painful and she wanted to seek other reconstruction options for herself. She decided to remove the bilateral breast implants and have a bilateral DIEP Flap Reconstruction surgery (after photographs). Patient is now very happy with her breast reconstruction results and feels amazing. She is just three months post-surgery. As she continues to heal from surgery her scars which are red in color currently will continue to fade.
